Opulenza Designs will stop business operations effective July 16, 2024.

Greybull, WY - Opulenza Designs, an artisan jewelry direct sales brand, is closing for business as of July 16, 2024. The owners, Julie Seals and Jody Lafko, who cofounded the brand in 2016 released this statement:

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of Opulenza Designs effective July 16th, 2024.

From the beginning in 2016, Jody and I have had a vision for Opulenza. We wanted hundreds of thousands of women to know about our company, love our jewelry, and be empowered by the opportunity it brings. It was our desire that women and men who are looking for full-time or part-time income would find it in Opulenza. We wanted to help all achieve personal growth as well learn how to set goals for themselves and see them realized. The direct sales business model remains one of the best ways to achieve these things.

When we first started this company, we knew sales. We were all top sales leaders in our former company. Jody was also an excellent team builder with a team of over 1000 reps. However, over the past few years, after spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on inventory, trips, and conferences, it became more and more difficult to steer this ship in an ever-changing industry and the current market conditions. We just didn’t have the business experience or acumen needed NOR the margins necessary. And we weren’t growing as we needed after trying so many things. We had set up our business in much the same way we had seen it done in the past. But think about that. Our former company’s hay day was back in 2009. Back when they had over 30,000 reps. The world and this industry has changed so much since then.

• During Covid, we bought out our two original partners which was costly, but a good move since our visions were not aligning.
• Right after that, the price of silver tripled in price. So, we adjusted and moved forward.
• We were advised we should get a new website that had some really cool features, and finally had to terminate that contract after losing $40k and 1 1/2 years with still no new site.

Once we did start with another tech company at the beginning of this year to build a new website, sales bumped up for a while, but as you team leaders know, they have steadily declined. In the midst of no real growth to speak of, we continued paying for all the extras because we knew you needed to be able to compete with other companies to attract anyone to join us and be successful. But, here we are now in a place we never dreamed of being.

In 2024, there are thousands upon thousands more direct sales and network marketing companies. These companies are run by very innovative business minded people who watch and learn from latest trends. Bringing in Jessica Kane was indeed one of the best decisions we ever made! Not only for her brilliant app, Geniechat, but for her experience in building many companies over the years, her marketing expertise, and technological prowess in the direct sales industry.
However, by the time she was really able to dig in to all the reports when we made her CEO, it was too late. Our problems had been accruing long before Jessica was brought in.

So, what does that mean for you? What happens for the next 60 days?

• Have to cancel conference. We can refund tickets with Opulenza gift cards which will be valid until June 16th, 2024
• We will pay override commissions from May 1st - 16th by June 5th, and then go to 1 level for the next 60 days
• That means all orders placed on May 17th to July 16th will only pay 25% on PRS. No overrides, incentives or bonuses
• *REVISED* Our hostess rewards program will remain in place until Monday 11:59pm CST on 5/20/24.  After that, no party benefits may be redeemed.
• All gift cards issued before or after today must be redeemed by June 16th.
• Because of our limited staff, and going to a bare necessity website, we can no longer do any returns or exchanges.

As of right now, we need to clear out the warehouse and have added all jewelry in the distribution center including all vault items, merch and supplies to the live site at opulenzadesigns.com at 50% off.

We want to thank Jessica for all that she has contributed to Opulenza in the short time she was here. We so wish we had gotten you aboard so much sooner. We know that you will go from here to do many amazing things! Jody and I will be watching!!

We are so incredibly thankful for our team and dear friends, including Amy Mayer, faithful, loyal and hard working since 2019, Shirley Champa, known affectionately as our Miss bossy pants, Kim Zamora, our most kind and stylish team player, Bailey Hill, our amazing master of everything, Jill Lorash, Queen of customer care, and Karissa, our quality care jewelry expert.

And lastly, to you our stylists, we cannot thank you enough for your loyalty to us and hard work over the past 7 1/2 years. We could not have built our dream without you. The community that you have helped build is like no other! We have never known such a caring and supportive group of people.

We hope that you all will take advantage of the sale of our mountains of sterling silver jewelry for your customers, and it’s extremely successful for you all these last 60 days.

CLOSURE FAQ's

*REVISED 5/18* The Opulenza host rewards program will remain earnable and redeemable for all parties that close on or before Monday 11:59pm CST on 5/20/24.  After that date, party benefits may not be earned or redeemed.

All purchases made on May 16, 2024 forward are *FINAL SALE* and will not qualify for returns, exchanges, or warranty claims.

Canadian Affiliate Program
As of May 16, 2024, the Canadian Affiliate Program is discontinued. 

Returns, Exchanges, Warranties
As of May 16, 2024, no returns, exchanges, or warranty claims will be accepted.

Unused Gift Cards
Gift cards with balances may be redeemed for product until June 16, 2024. After this date, gift cards will not be redeemable.

New Representative / Stylist Starter Kits
New representatives will not be able to purchase a starter kit as of May 16th, 2024. Any starter kits purchased before this date do not qualify for returns or exchanges. 

National Conference Tickets
Everyone who purchased a conference ticket will receive an Opulenza gift card that is redeemable until June 16, 2024. No cash refunds will be given.

Unused 1/2 Price Item Rewards
As of May 16, 2024, any unused 1/2 price item rewards will no longer be redeemable. No refund or credit will be given. 

Back Office Access
Stylists will have access to the back office site and the ability to access eWallets until July 16, 2024. Any commissions not withdrawn will be mailed in a check to the representative to the address on file.

Commission Payments
Stylists will receive override commissions by June 5th for sales placed from May 1st - May 16th. For orders placed on May 17th to July 16th, Stylists will not receive override commissions, bonuses, or incentives and will only receive personal commission of 25% on PRS.
